Perfect Boiled Eggs Every Time

CONTRIBUTED BY:  DODIE ANDERSON

If you eat a lot of eggs,  it is well worth it to purchase a small, inexpensive egg cooker from your local kitchen store or on-line.  The perfect hard-boiled egg cooks in about 9 - 10 minutes.  Or, if you love to cook and want to make them from scratch, here is the recipe we recommend:

EQUIPMENT
Saucepan with lid

INGREDIENTS
Eggs, pasture raised (read label on egg carton)
Cold water to cover eggs

PREPARATION AND COOKING TIME
Prep time: practically nil

Cooking time:  It depends on what kind of eggs you are making. See #5 below.

METHOD

YIELD

As desired

SERVING SUGGESTION
Sprinkle with salt or use hard-boiled eggs in egg salad.

SOME TIPS AND COMMENTS

Consume eggs with a piece of fruit or a glass of fruit juice because if too many eggs are eaten at once (lots of protein!) your sugar levels can drop and result in your energy level falling.   Also, eating a little fat with eggs (like butter or coconut oil) can help to slow protein from entering your bloodstream too quickly and plummeting your energy.  You could have a piece of sourdough toast or a tortilla with butter.  If you are making fried eggs, fry them in butter or coconut oil.

Notice in general if you are tired after you eat.  This may mean your blood sugar levels have dropped and you need to consume more carbs to balance

STORAGE SUGGESTION

Unpeeled eggs store well for a week in the fridge.
