Grab and Go

Don’t have time or don’t like to cook?   These are snacks and small meals.  One of our favorites is fresh fruit with cheese.  


Here are some portable basics you can bring with you in a light cooler:  


Milk

This is a cornerstone of the Contra Diet because it contains all three macronutrients:  protein, carbs and fat plus a source of calcium that your body can assimilate easily.  It lacks iron that you can get in eggs.


Eggs

Hard boiled and sprinkled lightly with salt or deviled eggs


Fruit

Fresh and preferably organic


Cheese

Hard cheeses:   Manchego, Comte and Parmesan Reggiano 

Fresh cheeses:  ricotta, cottage and cream cheese


Fruit Juice

Preferably organic


Coffee

With cream/milk and real sweetener:  table sugar, honey, maple syrup
